In this exciting camp, students will explore how music and coding connect while creating their own digital games. Students will have a blast in this interactive, interdisciplinary camp that engages both creativity and strategic thinking. No music or coding experience is necessary. In fact, this camp is most suitable for those without previous music instruction, or with less than one year of instruction.

Learn proper singing techniques to avoid developing detrimental vocal habits in this fun group vocal camp! Staging and acting while singing are included, as well as dealing with stage fright

Jumpstart your child’s exposure and appreciation of classical music with this fun-filled, high-energy violin camp! Using the Suzuki Method, which emphasizes ear training and encourages positive experiences and motivation, children will learn the fundaments of playing the violin.

Note: A violin is required for participation. This can be rented for the week for $15 at the time of registration.

Using GarageBand or Soundtrap, students will write and record their own pop songs! Students will be coached in preparation of recording songs.

This camp is for intermediate and advanced-level students. Students will learn the essence of artistic performance and a comprehensive understanding of composition.

Are you looking to introduce your child to a variety of musical experiences? Then try out Little Music Makers! In this fun-filled week, students will be introduced to the recorder and the piano, in addition to a module that includes the Orff and Kodaly methods of music learning.

Note: Students will need to bring or purchase a recorder for participation.

Interested in becoming a songwriter or composer? This camp is for you! Learn how theory is related to building melodies, harmonies and unique rhythms in the basics of good composition. Students’ compositions will be recorded, and a recording will be given to them at the end of the week.

Note: At least one year of musical instruction is required. Campers may use any instrument of their choosing.

At Mastery School of Music, everyone can be a musician, regardless of musical background! This camp will be divided into short sections designed to introduce participants to different elements of music-making. From the guitar to percussion and making music using GarageBand, this camp is designed to expose children to new and exciting aspect of the music world.

Note: Guitars are required for participation in the program and can be rented for an additional $15 at the time of registration. It is recommended that each student have an iPad/iPhone with the latest version of GarageBand loaded on it.

Taught by Mikyla Jensen, the only certified Kinderflute teacher in Vancouver, students will learn note-reading, proper breathing techniques and rhythm as they develop their musicality on the flute.
